Renovation of Rosengarten refuge

 

The project involves the reconstruction of the refuge Rosengarten, a mountain hut at an altitude of 1946 meters.

It is located on the path that leads to the homonymous mountain range of the Trento Dolomites. The goal is not the material renovation, the shelter in fact has no particular historical value, but rather a recovery of identity or an intervention that will allow the new building to place in the cultural landscape of mountaineering and the Dolomites.

Therefore, the project is based on the preservation of the original nucleus of the shelter, which are kept outside walls and the roof. The old housing, restored to its original state, mainteining the raw stone , is recovered as a central space, a place for socializing around which focuses the life and the spirit of the new Alpine refuge.
